Much of what we throw away can actually be recycled. By recycling more, you may be able to save money and you will conserve resources.

Prohibited Items

Do not put the following materials in the garbage:

Hazardous Waste

•  Oil-based paint, varnish, paint thinner, solvents.
•  Lawn products, insecticides, herbicides, fertilizer.
•  Automotive products, vehicle batteries and fluids.
•  Aerosol spray cans.
•  Concrete, rocks and dirt.

Special Handling

Bag Loose Items
•  Bag loose ashes, sawdust, vacuum cleaner dust, cat litter, styrofoam packing pellets or similar lightweight material before placing in your garbage cart or dumpster.

Latex Paint Cans:
•  Allow paint to dry out.
•  Put can in garbage with the lid off.
