Materials Collected

Much of what we throw away can actually be recycled. By recycling more, you may be able to save money and you will conserve resources.
Materials to put in your recycling cart.  

Prohibited Items

Do not put the following materials in the garbage:

Computers and TVs. For safe disposal options see the Take It Back Network.

Fluorescent Tubes and Bulbs. For safe disposal options see Frequently Asked Questions.

Hazardous Waste

For safe disposal of hazardous waste visit www.govlink.org/hazwaste/business/index.
  Oil-based paint, varnish, paint thinner, solvents.
  Lawn products, insecticides, herbicides, fertilizer.
  Automotive products, vehicle batteries and fluids.
  Aerosol spray cans.
  Concrete, rocks and dirt.

Special Handling

Bag Loose Items
  Bag loose ashes, sawdust, vacuum cleaner dust, cat litter, styrofoam packing pellets or similar lightweight material before placing in your garbage cart or dumpster.

Latex Paint Cans:
• 
Allow paint to dry out.
•  Put can in garbage with the lid off.
