Electronics & E-Waste

Electronic waste, or E-Waste, includes computers, monitors, and televisions.

These products contain toxic chemicals that, if not disposed of correctly, cause environmental contamination and serious health impacts.

Responsible Purchasing

The Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool will help you find desktops and laptops that are manufactured environmentally responsibly and have a long user life.

Safe Disposal

The resources below will help you dispose of E-Waste safely.

  • Residents of the state of Washington can call 1.800.RECYCLE or visit the E-Cycle Washington website for E-Waste Disposal Information.

  • The Take It Back Network provides information on how to dispose of hazardous waste materials, including E-Waste.

All e-waste received by Recology CleanScapes is taken to R2 and ISO 14001 certified recyclers. These certifications ensure electronic waste is not exported and is recycled responsibly to the highest standards.
