Students Teach | Zero Waste Art Exhibit


SEATTLE, WA - (July 29, 2011) - On Monday, August 1st, Seattle and Shoreline elementary students and their famlies will gather at 6:30 pm with CleanScapes and Seattle Public Utilities' Solid Waste Director, Tim Croll at the Northgate Library to kick off a month-long student art exhibit featuring zero waste ideas.

Artwork from 56 students will be on display representing your artists from John Hay, Kimball, Wing Luke, Laurelhurst, and Lowell Elementary in Seattle and Meridian Park, Echo Lake, and Lake Forest Park Elementary in Shoreline.

Accepting ideas for CleanScapes’ $10,000 Community Improvement Project


From now until July 31st, Shoreline residents are invited to submit ideas for a community improvement project worth $10,000. Project ideas will be reviewed by a committee of neighborhood representatives, and the winning project will be installed and maintained by CleanScapes, in coordination with the City of Shoreline.

CleanScapes Awards $10,000 Prize to Shoreline Neighborhoods


SHORELINE, WA – (April 16, 2011) – On Saturday, April 16th, CleanScapes’ President Chris Martin and Shoreline Mayor,Keith McGlashan announced the winner for CleanScapes 2010/2011 Neighborhood Reduction Rewards Competition. CleanScapes, a solid waste company serving Shoreline and Seattle, awarded a $10,000 community grant to the neighborhoods of Meridian Park, Highland Terrace, Parkwood, Westminster Triangle, and Richmond Highlands.

Teamsters Local 174 and CleanScapes Reach Labor Agreement


SEATTLE, WA – (April 4, 2011) – On April 4, 2011 Rick Hicks, Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters Local 174, and Chris Martin, President of CleanScapes reached a new labor agreement for  CleanScapes’ collection and delivery drivers, and helpers. The members of Local 174 approved  this new 5-year agreement by a well deserved 98%.

2011 Neighborhood Waste Reduction Rewards Program Kicks-off Today


To help Seattle communities along the road toward zero waste, CleanScapes is challenging residents and neighborhoods to reduce their waste footprint with the annual Neighborhood Waste Reduction Rewards competition. The reward? A $50,000 community project built in the winning neighborhood and maintained by CleanScapes.
