Waste Reduction Awards Given to Shoreline Schools


City Council recognizes Syre and Parkwood Schools for their waste reduction success and proclaims November 15 America Recycles Day in Shoreline

At its November 3 meeting, the Shoreline City Council declared November 15 America Recycles Day in Shoreline. In honor of America Recycles Day, the Council and Recology CleanScapes recognized teachers, students, and parents from Parkwood and Syre Elementary Schools for their efforts to increase recycling and reduce waste. Recology CleanScapes also awarded each school $5,000.

Recology CleanScapes Awards Scholarship to Shorewood HS Student


$2,000 college scholarship for waste reduction video presentation

Shoreline, WA – Althea Surowiec, a senior at Shorewood High School, was awarded a $2,000 college scholarship by Recology CleanScapes today.  Recology CleanScapes awards an annual scholarship for Shorewood and Shorecrest juniors and seniors who write an essay or produce a video that outlines ideas for waste reduction in their community.

Recology CleanScapes Opens New Recycling Facility


Seattle, WA – In front of elected officials and community members, Recology CleanScapes opened a 75,000 square foot Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) in South Seattle today. The facility will process commercial and residential comingled recyclable materials. Recology CleanScapes has already hired 25 employees to operate this facility.

CleanScapes Temporarily Suspends Garbage Service in Issaquah


Inclement weather conditions will delay collection until Saturday

ISSAQUAH, WA – Due to inclement weather conditions, CleanScapes has temporarily suspended collection service for garbage, recycling and compost service on Friday, December 20th. This service interruption will primarily affect customers in the Issaquah Highlands and other high elevation areas.
