Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Unveils New Hybrid Garbage Truck


On Tuesday (April 24), CleanScapes, the City of Des Moines and the Southwest King County Chamber of Commerce cut a ribbon to celebrate the arrival of a new environmentally-friendly, hybrid garbage truck that will soon be roaming local streets.

Officially called a ‘Hydraulic Launch Assist’ (HLA) truck, it is the first hybrid garbage truck in the entire Northwest.

HLA vehicles store energy captured when braking and use it for future acceleration. This technology translates to up to 30% fuel savings and cleaner air

Highline Times: New garbage, recycling and compost service coming to Des Moines on November 1st


 

CleanScapes to brief Des Moines City Council on Thursday, September 8th

CleanScapes will also expand the range of recyclables collected including plastics, motor oil, bottled kitchen fat/oil/grease, scrap metal, household batteries, and fluorescent tubes. Additionally, all Des Moines residents will receive new containers and carts.

New Garbage and Recycling Service Starting in Des Moines November 1st


The City of Des Moines selected CleanScapes to provide garbage, recycling, and food scraps and yard debris collection services for households, apartments, and businesses beginning this fall. CleanScapes is a locally-owned and managed company currently providing recycling, garbage, and exterior maintenance services in Seattle and Shoreline.
