Catalog Choices

Neither rain, nor sleet, nor gloom of night will stay the catalog from its appointed course! Whether you want them or not, unsolicited advertising material like catalogs and credit card offers show up in your mailbox…but you do have a choice!

For many of us, all of this paper goes straight from the mailbox into the recycle bin. The good news is you can opt-out of receiving catalogs and other junk mail by having your name and address removed from distribution lists.

Catalog Choice is a non-profit organization which helps people stop unwanted mail. Their online process is free, and will help stop waste at the source and save natural resources.

The Big Picture

Every year 100,000,000 trees are cut down to make paper for US junk mail(1).

In 2010, 250 million tons of waste was created in the US. Paper played a significant role in the waste stream, and accounted for 29% of total waste created(2).
